![]() It's modern, clean, spacious and has everything you need. This is the best hotel I have stayed in in Erie. Hilton will also be notified of all this. There was something spilled in the main Guest Lobby area that ran from the front desk all the way to the pool area and was not cleaned up-this place was horrible! Breakfast did not have enough food for registered hotel guests-no coffee, no bread, no seating and housekeeping staff were smoking cigarettes right outside the front door-I mean I could not believe all of this was happening under one roof! Never once was any kind of management on site. It was scary! Asked to please move, yet the next room was just the same-we were so disappointed as this is a new hotel and we are Hilton Honors members. The room had a huge fruit punch stain on the carpet along with other stains and the pillows on beds looked liked someone had just slept there. Tried to check in to this hotel under our reservation at 4:15PM-the front desk said we could not check in yet as they did not have enough towels-Huh? We waited until 5PM to get into the room. The walls and floor weren't very sound proof at all, as we could hear people in the hallways and rooms around us.Go to the Sheraton Erie Waterfront Hotel instead of this place. Out our window was a view of splash lagoon and some of the peach street eateries etc, so not a terrible view. I just wish that there had been four pillows instead of just two. The bed was fantastic, with the softest sheets I've ever slept on. The couch was ok, but I shouldn't expect too much from a hotel couch. The large tv had a swivel so we could watch it in bed or on the couch. We did take advantage of the fridge, microwave, dishes and dishwasher. The kitchen area was small, but it noted that they had portable cook tops available at no extra charge. I really liked that there were body wash and shampoo dispensers in the shower. Our room was large, very clean, and comfortable. One of the elevators was out of order, but the other was still useable. The desk staff were super nice and complemented each other perfectly. Since this one was new and looked fantastic, we chose Home 2 for our weekend anniversary trip. My husband and I have made short trips to Erie every year for the last 8 years together, and have never stayed at the same hotel. For that reason, we'll pass on this chain. Our disappointment was politely brought to the attention of the manager. The breakfast appeared to us to be a rollback towards the continental breakfasts of 10 years ago, as a cost savings measure by Hilton. Rather than a hot breakfast tray, one encounters an unappetizing frozen package, which one has to stand for a long time to microwave. It took 7 minutes in the tiny microwave to cook 1 serving of eggs. ![]() Offerings are limited to 2 waffle machines (whole grain, tasted like cardboard), cold cereal, breads and toaster, and some deep frozen, microwave them yourself, cheese eggs. The counter was a mess, and the floor was sticky. Because they use hard plates and silverware, people do not clean their tables when done each day, tables were full of dirty dishes, and it was hard to find a place to sit. Hilton proclaims a "healthy" breakfast, using this as an excuse to strip the offerings down to bare minimums. the breakfast was a significant negative for us, such that we will not return. ![]() There were only 4 chaise lounges, made from an uncomfortable, slippery hard plastic material, in keeping with the ultra-modern motif. We experienced 2 negatives during our 4 day stay: - The pool area furnishings are sparse. ![]() Attractive, modern furnishings, efficient storage space, very nice privacy curtain between the bed area and suite sitting area. It leans more toward an extended stay hotel, with the full size fridge and kitchenette. This is a new concept by Hilton, and the suite rooms are very nice. ![]()
